Lea Schodel Founder of Wellthy Pty Ltd and Mindful Wealth

"I started in the financial services industry when I was 20, I worked hard and studied to gain qualifications and experience. I was technically very good at managing other people's money ,but when it came to my own, I struggled to apply these good money management habits towards my own situaiton.

Thankfully in my late twenties I came to realise that it takes much more than just knowledge to be able to manage money well. There are all these personal attributes like self-awareness, control, discipline and motivation that we need to master and I discovered that our beliefs play a very big role in our use of money and that most of our money habits are driven by our emotions.

I now have a saying that "in order to manage money well, we need to manage ourselves well", this means that we need to be in control of our thoughts, emotions and actions if we're going to be able to create, grow and keep our money."
